Maths, nature, and space, the circle has always felt like one of those mysterious shapes to me. Look closely enough into any big maths problem and you'll probably find a circle somewhere inside any piece of material. I made this collage thinking about that: how nature can be hidden within those problems. I used a pastel colour palette for this piece with a vertical composition.

This abstract piece from a paper-cutout collage, layering bold navy, red and brown shapes on a textured off-white sheet. A checkered ribbon curls across the base like creased cardstock, while a solitary eye peers from behind a red plane, casting a subtle shadow. I start thinking of El Quijote and making some shapes for his face. This was the outcome.
